Blowing bubbles is one of our absolute favorite activities and these DIY straw bubble blowers to are so easy to make! We always have bubbles on hand because they require no prep and kids of all ages love playing with them!
The kids seriously never get tired of bubbles.
There are so many ways to turn simple objects from your home into bubble wands and these DIY straw bubble blowers are no exception! We usually have straws sitting around in my kitchen utensils drawer but we never seem to actually use them. They usually end up in other activities like our lion craft, weaving activities, or these bubble wands.
DIY Straw Bubble Blowers
Materials for DIY Bubble Blowers:
- Straws
- Small elastic or rubber bands
- Soap & water (or bubble solution)
To make them we simply selected several straws from the package and used some small elastic bands to wrap both ends of the straws together.
That’s it! Your bubble wand is ready to go.
To use it simply, dip one end of your straw blowers into your bubble solution and blow! Super easy and very fun!
The action of simply blowing bubbles is more than just fun. It helps children work on several developmental skills like fine motor, visual tracking, hand/eye coordination, and much more.
Plus bubbles are fun to chase around and try to pop!
Sometimes we try new variations when using these:
- Try colored or scented bubbles
- Add a few drops of glycerin to your bubble mix to make large bubbles
- Try different lengths of straws
This is a simple way to reuse those plastic straws you have laying around! Give it a try today, your kids will have so much fun!
