Make a fun Thanksgiving felt board set! These are so fun and easy!

With Thanksgiving on the horizon I’ve switched up our felt board for the kids.  I made all these last year so this is the second year that we have had them out. They are super easy to make! I may have even cheated a bit on some, you’ll see below, but it just makes them that much easier to make! We have a Pilgrim set, a Native American set, a food set, and a cute little turkey. I think the whole set took me about an hour to make but it was a favorite activity last year and got a lot of use, I’m actually surprised it survived and we are able to revisit it this year.

Materials for Thanksgiving Felt Board

• Felt
• Scissor
• Glue Gun
• Pen
• Printer (optional)

Each of the feathers detaches but I used the glue gun to adhere the eyes and beak. My littler ones like this one the most, they like identifying the colors and counting each of the feathers as they put the turkey together.

And what’s a Thanksgiving felt board without some yummy foods? Our Thanksgiving feast felt set was the hardest one. I cut out each of these pieces after freehand drawing them (if you look on google I’m sure there are templates) and glued the extras on. These were the most tedious but it took me about 15 minutes to do them and they are my favorite.

The next sets are the ones I totally cheated on! Rather than tracing or drawing them free hand I ended up PRINTING them out!  My ink was running out on these so everything has a pink hue. I plan to reprint them with the correct coloring but for our last minute Thanksgiving felt board set this was the best I could do at the moment. The kids loved them!

Here is our easy felt board pilgrim set! I just printed off some clip art I found online, cut it out, and glued it on top a piece of felt! That’s it! Super duper easy!

On these ones I did use thin contact paper to made them sturdier for the kids and less likely to be damaged by my toddlers right away. I do think that regular lamination paper would have made them too heavy to stay up on the felt board.

To add a bit more to our sets I added a cabin and a tepee for our characters to live in. It gave the kids bit more to room to explore and play. I just cut them out of brown felt and used a permanent marker to add details.

It doesn’t have to be too hard to make a felt board and this Thanksgiving felt board set is just too easy to pass up! Plus your toddlers and preschoolers will have a great time with this fun kids activity!
