This Charlie Brown craft was inspired by a reusable Peanuts trick-or-treat bag we got from our local Safeway store during the Halloween season. We were shopping for some snacks and when we purchased some of our favorite Horizon snack products we got a free trick-or-treat bag!
Watercolor Charlie Brown Craft for Kids
Materials:
We used red and yellow liquid watercolors to create a sunset but you could use other colors too. I love that this art project was also an experiment in color mixing. My daughter and the daycare kids first predicted what would happen in the middle where the red and yellow mixed and then we got busy testing their guesses and creating our masterpieces.
While we waited for their watercolor background scenes to dry, I printed and cut out a Charlie Brown and Snoopy silhouette (see link above to download your own). After the watercolors had fully dried I gave the kids each a glue stick with their painted picture. They used the glue sticks to glue Charlie Brown and Snoopy onto their sunsets.
Now those best friends can enjoy the sunset together. We hung ours in the window of our playroom and when the sun filters through it really makes the colors pop!
Stunning colors, right? Isn’t this Charlie brown craft so fun? I know it brings back memories of watching the movies with my brother when we were little. We even watched The Peanuts Movie with my daughter on the weekend after making this.
