Disney Princess: A Magical Pop-Up World Book Review
Princess lovers unite! What’s better than a fun princess story? How about an interactive pop-up princess story?! Disney Princess: A Magical Pop-Up World by Matthew Reinhart is an incredibly interactive pop-up book that lets your little ones get lost in the timeless Disney stories that we all love and treasure.
If I’m being honest I have to say that I’m not typically a fan of pop-up books because sometimes I feel that they focus more on the pop-up art and less on the story of the book and many are made too flimsy, with pull tabs that rarely work. This book however, was not that way at all.
The stories are right along side the illustrations and each individual pop-up sequences offers an engaging portion of the classic stories that my kids love so much. The pull tabs and pop-ups are well-made with thick paper, my kids could easily operate the pull tabs that turn the page into something entirely different and they were sturdy enough to not rip or break when pulled. It is made from paper though so I reminded the children to be gentle and would not recommend it for young toddlers to use on their own, it can be ripped.
The pop-ups are elaborate, much more so than I ever expected. They also offer and interactive element to them as will with pull tabs that reveal more about the story of each princess. The kids loved how Cinderella is transformed from her shabby ripped dress to her beautiful princess gown with one simple pull of a tab!
The book features five large pop-up spreads but each page also offers several smaller pop-ups bringing the total to twenty-seven awesome pop-ups that your kids will love.
The stories are all from your favorite princesses: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ariel and Rapunzel. Within each page there are also stories of many other princesses, like Merida, Belle, Pocahontas, and many more. I’m sure that your child will be able to find their favorite princess in this fun book.
Rapunzel is my daughter’s favorite and when we turned the page to reveal the elaborate and impressively large pop-up tower my daughter was in awe!
Impressive right?
I’m so glad that we were able to get our hands on this book. It’s been the most popular book at both story time and bed time. All of my daycare kids have added it to their Christmas and birthday wish lists.
