We were in the mood for a new sensory activity, something messy as weather has given us a break and we can actually be outside for awhile! So today we broke out some sensory tubs and made up some cloud dough.
It’s super simple! Two ingredients that most of us have on hand all the time: flour and baby oil (we used regular cooking oil). The recipe that I have calls for an 8:1 ratio (8 cups flour to 1 cup of oil) but I as I only had two little toddlers today so I decided to cut the recipe down to 2 cups flour & 1/4 cup oil.
The consistency is pretty much similar to regular flour but when packed it holds its shape. I added small metal condiment cups (Walmart $0.98 for 4) and shells (Dollar Tree) so they could scoop and stamp but the little ones didn’t really have much interest in the shells or cups. They were perfectly happy to swish and toss it all around!
