Its that time when we celebrate Dads!
For some reason I always struggle with finding things for Father’s Day. There are a million ideas for Mother’s Day but Father’s Day is always a challenge.
This year we decided to make hand print fish.
I used acrylic paints because the construction paper I currently have on hand really absorbs the tempera paints and takes away a bit of the color so they don’t “pop” as much but regular tempera paints will work fine for this project.
My crew of daycare kids and MB are all under 2 so really I did most of the hand painting and stamping but older kids could do it themselves.
For the fish I used two colors in stripes on their hands, then pressed onto the paper. I did mine thumbs up (see pic) but I think most people do them thumbs down. Personally I think either way looks cute but I have a friend who would redo them if she saw them this way! 😛
We also painted their fingers green and printed them along the bottom for seaweed and used their fingertips in white for bubbles.
Here’s a pic of them drying:
And complete:
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!
