Boo! It’s that spooky time of year and Halloween activities are in full force around our house. When the girls aren’t playing with our Halloween light table activities or reading some (not so) spooky Halloween books we’re trying to find new fun ways to learn and play with Halloween items. This week we teamed up with our blogging friends from All Things Kids and created these fun Halloween activities! Check out what the other bloggers created below! Our simple kids activity came after a quick trip to Target!
Halloween Math Games: Counting with Ghosts
Affiliate links provided for your convenience, please see below or our disclosure for more info, Thank you!
What we used in our Halloween Math Games:
- Mini pumpkin & cauldron candy buckets
- Ghost erasers
- Hape Number Blocks
The buckets and ghost erasers I got at Target in the $1 section. The buckets come in sets of 6 and I bought 2 packs of erasers to make sure we had enough for counting 1 through 10.
I set out the buckets with a number next to each one and the girls were off! It’s a simple way to practice counting and letter recognition this Halloween!
We did a few basic math games with these materials. They counted the ghosts and put the correct number into the bucket based on the number it was next to. We also did it where I filled the buckets and then the girls would pick one, dump out and count the ghosts, then find the number block that matched.
MB and the daycare girls loved this simple counting activity and it’s a perfect way to do some Halloween themed math games!
