There are so many fun Halloween Themed Songs and Rhymes for kids that’s it’s hard to keep track of them. To make sure we didn’t forget our favorite ones I put together this list of the best Halloween songs, fingerplays, and rhymes to do with toddlers and preschoolers.
This time of year is my favorite! We love doing all kinds of Halloween crafts and activities but teaching the kids in my home daycare new Halloween songs and rhymes is always one of my favorites parts. They are so fun and the kids LOVE to sing them! We have so much fun at circle time with these songs, rhymes, and fingerplays!
Here are some of the most popular Halloween songs and rhymes in my home daycare and preschool.
Halloween Themed Songs and Rhymes for Kids
I’m a big orange pumpkin,
Growing by the cornfield,
I’ll be a jack-o’-lantern,
Or maybe I’ll make two pumpkin pies!
Did you ever see a pumpkin, a pumpkin, a pumpkin?
Did you ever see a pumpkin, with no face at all?
With no eyes, no nose, no mouth, and no teeth,
Did you ever see a pumpkin, with no face at all?
So I made a Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lantern, Jack-O-Lantern.
So I made a Jack-O-Lantern with a big funny face!
With big eyes, a big nose, a big mouth, and big teeth.
So I made a Jack-O-Lantern with a big funny face!
Five Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, “Oh, my it’s getting late”
The second one said, “There are witches in the air.”
The third one said, “But we don’t care.”
The fourth one said, “Let’s run, let’s run!”
The fifth one said, “Isn’t Halloween fun?”
Then Woooooo went the wind
And OUT went the lights.
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
Five Little Monsters
Five little monsters sitting by the door.
One ran away and then there were four.
Four little monsters sitting in a tree.
One fell off, and then there were three.
Three little monsters drinking orange brew.
One fell in, and then there were two.
Two Little monsters having lots of fun.

Five Little Ghosts (Tune: “5 Little Monkeys”)
Five little ghosts jumping on the bed,

Mama called the Witch Doctor.
The Witch Doctor said no more ghosts jumping on the bed!
Four little ghosts jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head!
Mama called the Witch Doctor.
The Witch Doctor said no more ghosts jumping on the bed!
Three little ghosts jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head!
Mama called the Witch Doctor.
The Witch Doctor said no more ghosts jumping on the bed!
Two little ghosts jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head!
Mama called the Witch Doctor.
The Witch Doctor said no more ghosts jumping on the bed!
One little ghost jumping on the bed,
He fell off and bumped his head!
Mama called the Witch Doctor.
The Witch Doctor said no more ghosts jumping on the bed!
Flutter, Flutter Little Bat (Tune: “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”)

How I wonder where you’re at!

And scoop me out!
Jack-o-Lantern
Jack-o-Lantern, Jack-o-Lantern,
You are such a funny sight.
As you sit there by the window,
Looking out into the night.
You were once a sturdy pumpkin,
growing on a curly vine.
Now you are a Jack-o-lantern,
See your night lights shine.
Oh My Monster (Tune: “O My Darling”)
In the graveyard, in the graveyard,
When the moon begins to shine,

near me Frankenstein.

Three Black Cats (Tune: “Three Blind Mice”)

three black cats,
In black hats,
in black hats,
They all jumped into the Halloween brew.
They teased the ghosts & the goblins too!
Have you ever seen such a Hullabaloo??
On Halloween, On Halloween!
I am a trick or treater,
set to go,
here is my flashlight,
I’ll walk slow,
I always say thank you for my treats
and I never run across the street
