Here in the United States we have Thanksgiving is coming up soon. Because of this upcoming holiday we’ve been busy learning about turkeys and doing turkey crafts in my home daycare. To keep with this Thanksgiving theme and all the the turkey themed activities we’ve been doing I put together this simple Turkey feather counting game. We used ours on the light table but you could easily use it without one.
Turkey Feather Counting Game for Thanksgiving
I printed out a template I found via a google search and wrote a number on each one. I then laminated it and did the same for the feathers. I had planned to color the turkeys but the brown marker would have washed out the turkey and my numbers so I just left the body white and colored the feathers.
I did numbers 1 through 10 for my toddlers and preschoolers but they aren’t all pictured because my kids jumped right in and were very focused. I didn’t want to interrupt with my camera so I just got a few photos of the turkey counters.
If you don’t have a light table don’t worry! We used these off the light table too and they were just as fun.
The other turkey activity that we did on the light table was using gel window cling turkeys. The kids love the texture of these (“sticky and squishy!”) and the window clings are only a $1-$2 at Walmart or Target.
Work those fine motor skills!
